5 ::: Fall-y Points

::: 1 :::

Are clogs in? I scooped these up at Marshall's for an insanely cheap price, but I'm still not 100% sure I'm going to keep them. They're really comfortable, but I'm not sure how to wear them. I like the look of them from the side, but I think they're a little weird looking when you view them from the front. What do you think?

This week the ladies hosting #OurGratefulHome want to see our #fallkitchen decor. I received this precious "Thankful" sign in the mail yesterday from @charlie.and.ella, so I had to use it right away. It ended up on my kitchen counter with my vintage scale, a couple of pumpkins, and my cotton stems from @paintedfox1, and I love it! Yay for happy mail!:
Also, while I was at Marshall's I was scoping out where I'm going to spend my $50 holiday decorating budget. I have a bizarre problem when it comes to holiday decor shopping, so last year, I started the rule that I can only spend $50 bucks on fall/halloween/thanksgiving and then $50 on Christmas, and that's it. I figure each year, I can get a few new pieces and amass a collection of things slowly but surely. I really have no idea why it brings me such joy ..... but it does.

Same goes for my weird joyfulness in regards to festive holiday wear for Leo too. I just can't resist!

 Fall for turtlenecks.:
On the fashion advice front....I'm going to Austin, Texas next weekend! I'm so excited for my cousin's bachelorette party, but not sure if people have switched over to fall clothes yet. Is that a thing we're doing? Or can I still rock a LP blouse (if my After Party item ever arrives!) and white jeans?

 I bake so much more in the fall and winter than I do any other time. I try to get it the goods out of our house quickly - but I want to give a few new recipes (here) a try this fall.

So easy to make and with the right amount of pumpkin flavor, these pumpkin cheesecake bars taste exactly like a cheesecake that crossed paths with a pumpkin pie – the best of both worlds!: Whip up Apple Cider Cocktails for fall.:

  1. I'm a believer in dressing for the temp, not the "season." Plus, it's technically still summer anyway ha! ...says the girl in a linen shirt and white jeans today.

  2. That's SUCH a smart idea with the $50 per holiday budget!!! I sent you a snap this morning since I'm having trouble figuring out how to display the new Pier 1 pumpkins I bought. I am not Pinteresty!!!

    ALSO OH MY GOSH what is he going to be for Halloween!?!? Baby costumes are a passion of mine.

  3. I'm not sure what it is about holiday décor.. gets me every time! Especially the linens -- kitchen towels, napkins, placemats- I want them all! :) I agree with Beth. Dress for the weather! :) Have a good weekend!

  4. Where do you find Leo's clothes? He is seriously the cutest dressed baby boy I've ever seen!

  5. Fellow TX reader here! Promise that no one is dressing for fall down here yet, the temperatures are still in the 80s and 90s and the humidity is too high. Usually once the first cold front comes through (October-November) then we start seeing boots, scarves, etc. But for now plenty of people are still rocking shorts and flip-flops so rock your white jeans if you'd like! :)

  6. As much as I love love love fall (the clothes especially) I won't bust out my boots, etc until October. Though I intend to decorate next weekend. ;)
    So I say wear the white jeans and blouse. I bet it's going to be hot there anyway.

    And a $50 budget is brilliant! I like that idea.

    I admit the clogs are cute. I don't have any ankle boots or clogs personally since I have short legs and just don't think they flatter me. But I don't think they look weird.

  7. I have noo idea how to wear clogs but want a pair!! I also really want rag and bone booties are they over? I am always so late on these things. I miss having holiday decor but need to wait till we get more settled. Moving all my ahem junk is not fun.
