Unless you're new around here, it's not surprise that I love my wine. Joel and I are both in a few wine clubs and not only love drinking it, but also love learning about the process of wine making, different grapes, how to taste and what to pair with different types. Good thing we moved to California, right?
My parents are both passionate about wine, so I've had the good fortune of drinking a lot of bottles that are far out of my normal price range. But, I do blame them for turning me into somewhat of a wine snob.
While you can get good, cheap wine....You'd be hardpressed to find me enjoying a two buck chuck.
Either way, I've had my fair share of wine these days and wanted to share with you my ABSOLUTE favorites. These are all different kinds of wines, and many different prices ranges, but I promise you will have a great drinking experience with anyone of these bottles:
1. House Wine Blend $9
2. Joel Gott Sauvigon Blanc $10
3. Raymond Field Blend $13
4. Poppy Pinot Noir $15
5. Milbrandt Cabernet $17
6. La Creama Charddony $18
7. Decoy Merlot $20
8. Cakebread Cabernet $80
9. Chateau Montelena Cabernet $110
10. Peter Michael Cabernet $160
What are some of your favorite wines that I could put on my list?
I am a big fan of wine myself!!! My favorite is a three red blend called Menge a Trios. Depending on where you buy it it ranges from $8-11. I am a red only kinda girl but their blush blend is really good too for those with a sweeter palate! The Poppy Pinot is one of my favorites as well!
ReplyDeletefun post! I just went to a wine fest recently where I discovered a whole list of new wines. The tasting was for Chilean and Argentinian only, which was new for me because I normally stick the the US shelf. I absolutely love Ménage à Trois wines! Anyway, I love that you like House Wine because I bought a bottle of it for my friends recently who moved into a new house. I felt a little cheap-o because it was inexpensive but the label was just too cute!! I totally judge labels. I may need to try it myself soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestions! My roomies and I recently turned 21 and already have an affection for wine and are always looking for new ones to try!
ReplyDeleteLa Creme makes a great Pinot noir and chateau montelana makes a great Chardonnay.
ReplyDeleteHere are some of my faves:
Excelsior Chardonnay and Cabernet
Alamos malbec
Uma torrentes and Shiraz
Hahn Pinot noir
Borsao granache
Dr loosen Reisling
We love wine...way too much.
Umm yum. My mouth is watering. It is hard to find but Luzon is awesome. 65% Monastrell and 35% Syrah and 100% delicious. It is under 10 bucks..maybe like 8. Also, the Mark West pinot noir is also pretty great. Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this post. You know I am a wine snob, too. ;) You should definitely had Clous De Bous to your list and Red Diamond. They are all my favorite and very reasonably priced.
ReplyDeleteYay love wine! Joel Gott is great. I'm a big fan of their cab... will have to try the sauvignon blanc. I also really love B.R. Cohn cabernet. Yum now I need a glass of wine!
