Happy Humpday

• This week is flying by for me. Lately, I don’t like going home after work, having a home cooked dinner, and watching tv. So, I’ve been filling up my schedule with dinner’s out, friends, and family. It breaks up the routine nicely

• Tonight’s agenda after work is dinner at Café Ba Ba Reeba with Joel. Café Ba Ba Reeba is Spanish tapas, and it’s been a staple in Chicago forever. When my parents were newly married they would visit the same spot all the time.

• Speaking of my parents, they’re heading back to Mexico as we speak. Not bad, huh?

• At work, my department went from the 22nd floor down to #10. I like a change of scenery so I’m actually enjoying meeting new people and getting used to my new desk – which is a little bit bigger, but without a view of the city.

• I’m going to join my office’s runner’s club today to see if it would be a good fit for me. They run once a week along the Lakeshore trail and typically do 3-5 miles. I’m going to shoot for 4 today.

• The weather in Chicago is unseasonably warm. The high today is supposed to be in the mid 50’s.

• My cousin is coming in from Los Angeles this weekend and staying with Joel and I. He is newly engaged (and his fiancé will be joining on Saturday morning) and they are getting married here in Chicago. They are coming to scope out venues to host their reception. I may take a half day off of work on Friday to join Cole on the trip and check out some of the spots they are thinking of.

• I finished the 2nd Hunger Games book last night. I thought the second book was much, much better than the first. I couldn’t put it down and found myself much more connected to all of the characters. I can’t wait to start the 3rd.

• We have book club tonight and everyone is supposed to bring a dish to share. Since I’m going out to dinner tonight, and then going to the meeting directly after work tomorrow, I’m not going to have anytime to cook or bake any goodies. I hate bringing store-bought products to someone’s house, but I think that may be my only option.

• I’m on the hunt to find some new blogs to obsess over. What are your favorites?

  1. We're also having warmer weather than usual. Today is the first cold day in a while and we might actually get "some" snow. I want it to act like winter! haha

I enjoyed the 2nd Hunger Games a lot too.
