Well, I'm most happy to report that the new handyman showed up and did such a good job in the nursery. He got everything I needed done, charged me half what the first bloke was going to, and showed up early, moved quickly, and was really nice. I can't wait to show off the nursery once its finished in a few weeks time.
Friday night we ordered in thai food and just hung out at home after a busy week.
Saturday morning we were up bright and early for an infant safety class.
The class was long, but fun, and we learned a lot - from bathing a newborn, to how to take an infants temperature, to swaddling, to different holding positions.....it was just really informative and helpful for us.
After our class we had to head to the valley for work, and then stopped at my cousins to pick up her dog to babysit for the night.
By the time we were in the valley, the temps were over 110 degrees, so after a walk with the pups, we obviously found ourselves at Yogurtland.
On our way home, I got a call that I had been waiting for for the last year.
My cousin Amanda got ENGAGED!!!!!!!
Andrew, her fiance, planned a perfect day, and I couldn't be happier for them!!
Sunday, I fit in a walk and a 3 hour brunch with my girlfriend while Joel had his perfect California day with a long run in the mountains, and then a day at the beach with friends. I was happily napping in the a/c while he was gone, so I think we both won.
Our friend Matt came over after the beach and we grilled out and made s'mores which was the perfect way to cap off our fun weekend.
We have another packed, but really fun week ahead.
Trying hard to keep this quote as my mantra -
Joel's face in the baby class is too funny!
