Weekend Report

We had such a perfect weekend, but, it was one of those weekends that doesn't always show very well through iphone pictures. There was lots of couch and wine time, and how many pictures do you want to see of me, holding a glass of wine, with my cute little puppy placed somewhere in the picture?

Friday we had lunch at Santa Monica Seafood which is a way fun spot. I can't believe it's taken us an entire year to visit it, but now that we have, I think it's going to become a weekly adventure. It's basically a fresh fish market with gourmet dressings and rubs - but they also have half the area roped off for dining in. We started with oysters - which were fantastic, and then some seafood; seafood sliders for Joel and a Shrimp Louis salad for me.

Afterwards we ran errands and picked up some fun mixers for our anniversary dinner. We picked up fresh scallops and shrimp and both were to die for.

On Saturday, after hiking in the morning, we showered and walked to The W hotel to have a drink in their "Backyard". The W is dog friendly and this cute little girl loved Roscoe, so for like an hour Roscoe chased the little girl in circles. It was a perfect way to spend happy hour.

I made crock-pot Buffalo Chicken Wraps for dinner and then we watched, and totally enjoyed, This is 40. This is seriously one of our favorite weekend recipe's because it tastes so decadent, but really isn't.
On Easter, we went to the 9:30 Children's Mass, and then had mimosa's and brunch. We hung out at home all day Sunday and enjoyed the cloudy, LA day. It's always hard to have holiday's without family, and as much I think I'm prepared to do it alone, it's just never the same without them.
