Weekend Recap

On Friday I finally caught up with my favorite LA local, Laura. Both of our husbands were out of town so we got to have a perfect girls night. We had a few glasses of wine at her house before we ventured to Salt Air in Venice.

I stalked on Pintrest for outfit inspiration before leaving and got kinda lucky with a pairing a black tank with a black maxi skirt.

Salt Air opened a few months ago on Abbott Kinney and it is phenomenal. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant were right up my alley - and the whole place had a warm, casual buzz about it that made you feel right at home.

They coin it as a beach bistro - and that's exactly what it is.

We had the grilled octopus, salmon tartar, pea toast (get it, it's amazing), and the fish and chips - all of which I would recommend. LA ladies, put this on your must try list.

On Saturday, after a SoulCycle class, I buried myself into the couch and cruised through the second season of Girls. I'm obsessed and think I need to buy HBO just to be able to watch the 3rd season in real time.

I had been craving sushi for weeks and decided to order some in - and it sucked. It was fresh, and well made, but it just didn't give me what I was looking for. Take out sushi is never amazing, but I just cannot find good sushi around here. It's killin' me.

Joel's flight got in yesterday at 5pm so we tried to spend as much time with each other as possible since these last few weeks have been a little crazy.

We are celebrating Joel's birthday this weekend and I have lots fun tricks up my sleeve, so it should be a great week.

amen.
