friday's thoughts

I forgot to mention that last weekend I saw 5 Year Engagement. I probably forgot because it was a large waste of my two hours on a Saturday night. It's really not funny, not romantic, and there is a real lack of chemistry between these two actors. The only way I would recommend watching this movie is if you are on a 6 hour flight and it comes on for free.

Have to tried these bars? They're 190 calories (5 weight watchers points) and loaded with protein. I'm trying to up my protein and stay fuller longer, and these babies seriously do the trick. I end my lunches with them because they're basically dessert too - double whammy in my book.

I'm seriously so excited for my weekend. Tonight is book club with some of my new friends in Cali. We are meeting at a friends house in Santa Monica, sipping on fun cocktails, and discussing the dirty details of 50 Shades of Grey. I'm bringing this super easy dish as an appetizer.

Working from home is absolutely amazing.  Work has been pretty slow so I'm not sure I've gotten a true taste of what it could be like, but I've really enjoyed being able to sleep in, get errands done, hang out with my puppy and keep the TV all while I'm working. And doing that in yoga pants isn't half bad either.

Tomorrow is the day that I need to find a dress for our event on Saturday night. I hate putting that kind of pressure on myself, especially since I really don't have a back up dress. I will have to find something tomorrow so hopefully I'll hit the jackpot.

My cousin Ryan back home in Chicago had a little baby girl this past week and I cannot wait to meet her. Her name is Evelyn Marie and we'll be calling her Evie.

I'm really itching for a new blog design. If you have recommendations of companies, I'd love to hear them!

Prayers are needed for a family in my hometown. A family of 7, all of their children went to school with my sisters and I, and their family has had a huge impact on our community. All our strong athletes, including their 20 year old daughter who played tennis in college. 2 weeks ago, after having a headache and feeling dizzy, she took a nap and woke up completely incoherent. She had suffered a massive stroke. Things are not looking good for her and her family and boyfriend have not left her side. I'm praying for a miracle, and I know extra thoughts would be much appreciated. More about her story here.

And to end a positive note, my 3 favorite pins from this week:

Have a fantastic weekend!

  2. Just wanted to say hi: Saw you on Kellys Link Up- and I had been following you for a bit anyway :)

I just moved to Phoenix from Vegas and have yet to really meet anyone. Seeing you making friends is really inspiring. Man the older we are, the harder it becomes!

Your puppy is adorable. They sure change your life and usually end up needing a friend haha. I say that after 4 dogs and now a new little baby boy. Life sure is busy.

Anyway, I enjoy your blog and wish you the best!
