Recent Must Have's

::: I popped into Banana Republic last week and they were having a major sale - so I scooped up this sweater. I would have gotten in it in at least 2 colors, but they were out of most sizes. The lady said they couldn't keep it stocked (but it looks totally fine online).

The fit is comfortable, the material is SO nice (I'm very sensitive, and this is a really perfect cotton blend that isn't too light or too heavy).  I highly recommend!

::: And....on a total flip side of fashion...I ended up getting a popover from the Lilly Pulitzer after party sale...and I'm obsessed.

Joel's first comment was "that's a bit bright"....and it is. It's probably not the most seasonally appropriate sweater, but I actually like that it gives a gray day some color, and the material is almost terry cloth, so it's comfortable under coats without making you overheat.

Plus, with leggings on, I still feel put together for picking up Leo from school - even though, it's really just a comfy sweater! I can't find the exact popover I ordered from the sale, but I linked one above that's similar.

::: Here's a random one - but Caycee from Hanging with Hewitts had included these no-show socks from her Amazon picks, and I ended up purchasing them and really liking them too. They stay on all day - and they really don't show. I will say, they are cheap and thin, but I had ordered 3, and just recently ordered another batch because I've ended up wearing them a lot this fall with sneakers or booties.

::: I have been buying most of Drew's bows from Amazon, but my girlfriend suggested this Etsy shop (Little Lady Bowtique) that monograms bows - and I LOVE it. It's the perfect size for Drew, really inexpensive ($4, with $4 dollars for shipping) and I like the shape of the bow a lot. I only ordered one for now, but I have a feeling a few more will be making an appearance around Christmas.

::: Speaking of Drew - I know everyone is familiar with Freshly Picked, but I was actually given a pair of Sweet N Swag moccs for her, and I like them so much better than Freshly Picked. The leather is a little firmer, holds it shape much better, and doesn't show its wear as quickly as Freshly Picked does. And they're about half the price.

ROSE GOLD - BABY MOCCASINS

::: H3 Wine - I like both the Cab and the Merlot. They're pretty affordable for weekday drinking ($11-13/bottle).

::: The Flu Shot

Have you gotten yours? You really, really should.  It's not scary at all!

5 ::: Fall-y Points

::: 1 :::

Are clogs in? I scooped these up at Marshall's for an insanely cheap price, but I'm still not 100% sure I'm going to keep them. They're really comfortable, but I'm not sure how to wear them. I like the look of them from the side, but I think they're a little weird looking when you view them from the front. What do you think?

::: 2 :::

This week the ladies hosting #OurGratefulHome want to see our #fallkitchen decor. I received this precious "Thankful" sign in the mail yesterday from @charlie.and.ella, so I had to use it right away. It ended up on my kitchen counter with my vintage scale, a couple of pumpkins, and my cotton stems from @paintedfox1, and I love it! Yay for happy mail!:
Also, while I was at Marshall's I was scoping out where I'm going to spend my $50 holiday decorating budget. I have a bizarre problem when it comes to holiday decor shopping, so last year, I started the rule that I can only spend $50 bucks on fall/halloween/thanksgiving and then $50 on Christmas, and that's it. I figure each year, I can get a few new pieces and amass a collection of things slowly but surely. I really have no idea why it brings me such joy ..... but it does.

Same goes for my weird joyfulness in regards to festive holiday wear for Leo too. I just can't resist!

 Fall for turtlenecks.:
On the fashion advice front....I'm going to Austin, Texas next weekend! I'm so excited for my cousin's bachelorette party, but not sure if people have switched over to fall clothes yet. Is that a thing we're doing? Or can I still rock a LP blouse (if my After Party item ever arrives!) and white jeans?

::: 5 :::

 I bake so much more in the fall and winter than I do any other time. I try to get it the goods out of our house quickly - but I want to give a few new recipes (here) a try this fall.

So easy to make and with the right amount of pumpkin flavor, these pumpkin cheesecake bars taste exactly like a cheesecake that crossed paths with a pumpkin pie – the best of both worlds!: Whip up Apple Cider Cocktails for fall.:

SAHM Wear ::: Athleisure?

Have you heard of this word?

I guess mainly its just dressing up workout wear and when I'm actually working out, I really don't feel the need to put on my makeup or find cute accessories.

@meganbatoon | meganbatoon.com: Ray-ban, Womens sunglasses, not only fashion but also amazing price $9, Get it now!: A Casual Cool Athleisure Look To Try Now:

But, considering that I'm on the floor for 80% of my day, I'm finding that I don't wear 99% of my closet. Being in workout clothes is truly the only thing that makes sense, but I still want to feel cute.

I think it's a little easier in the winter to look cute while rocking this look but I've struggled this summer. I did buy these two skirts from Lululemon (wish I would have bought them in the "Tall" because they're a little short) and have been basically wearing them on repeat.

And while it looks like I'm playing tennis everyday, I feel ok talking walks with Leo, taking him to the park, stopping at the store, and then seeing a friend for a playdate. It's tough to find ONE outfit that you can do all of that in!

I'd like to pick up a few light weight long sleeves tops that I can throw over my workout tanks so I'm on the hunt for a few of these to complete the look! (found all from Nordstrom)

Vest Yourself

My mom always makes me try on things I wouldn't normally, and this vest from Banana is the perfect example. I was super hesitant to bite the bullet on it, but she told me to just try it and return it if it didn't work...and well, I wore it all weekend long.

It's long enough to wear with leggings and it's the perfect jacket for California winters....or everywhere else's spring.

I will say, I'm not crazy about it with a short sleeve shirt...

BUT I think if you could rock it with the right kind of dress or a really cute skirt.

I'm on the hunt for a leopard scarf and a comfy denim dress....both which would look really cute with this clearly versatile vest.

also, really random but....

Do you know what color this nail polish is? It's OPI and I'm obsessed with it but the bottle didn't have the handy sticker on it. I've had 3 random people comment on the color and it's killing me that I don't know!

Putting out the juju on my last post got me the sneaks I was lusting, so maybe putting out my need for a wide brimmed white fedora will offer me the same luck?

nude + white + fedora = a chic picnic outfit

Last week it was so damn hot in LA (I know, I'm sorry...), and my need for a new hat become all the more urgent.

I tried the one on at J.Crew and while the price is right, the brim isn't wide enough for what I want. The best one I've found is for a cool $250 in Venice, and I'm not forking that kind of money over. Have you seen any recently that I should check out?
