How Far Along? 29w, 5d - due October 15, 2015

Gender: BOY!

Weight Gain: 22lbs/19lb on doc's scales

Maternity Clothes: Mixing and Matching
Nursery: Well, I had the brilliant idea to hire a handyman to do everything we didn't want to do, and he totally blew us off. Never even an apology text came through, so we're delayed a little. When I get back from Chicago, I'm going to have to start the search to find someone else to do the job. Joel and I did tag-team the nursery decals and even though I needed to order more, I think they're going to really make the room a nursery.

Movement: All the time...he's active all the time and I'm thankful for it. It's very reassuring and he is starting to become responsive to what I'm doing. I can sort of wiggle him into different places and he'll perk up if I read out loud or drink hot or cold liquids. Feeling him move is still my favorite part of pregnancy.

Symptoms: Heartburn is pretty regular now and I've started to experience sharp round ligament pain when I exercise. I've also been really emotional and sensitive this week. And if I start crying? It's really hard to stop...
Sleep: Yea, I don't love it. I have to get up all of the time, I toss and turn all the time, and my belly is just uncomfortable at night.
Joel: I think the feeling of "impending closeness" is upon him and he feels like we really need to start hitting the books. I don't exactly feel the need for a cram session in baby, but this is such an intimidating experience, I'm trying to team up with him and do things that help relax him too in this huge life change. I've always known babies, and he hasn't, so it's super important that we both feel comfortable with what the heck is coming. We started reading Happiest Baby on the Block together before bed, signed up for an infant safety class, and a birthing class and I think that will really help Joel and I feel better "prepared".

Workouts: Four- 1 pool, 2 neighborhood walks, 1 gym session

Mood: Depends on the hour

Cravings: My appetite has increased a lot lately.

What I Miss: I'm missing alcohol and hard workouts

Random Things: I had a doctors appointment this week which was thankfully easy and routine. I measured right on track at 29.5 weeks, but baby is still in a funny position. My doctor thinks my uterus might be tilted but we're going to wait to worry about his position until closer to 35 weeks when we will have our last ultrasound. The babes heartbeat was strong in the 135/140s and the doctor sent me on our way until the end of August.

Best Moment This Week: Hearing the strong heartbeat is always a highlight for the week. We also had a lot of fun hanging out with my cousin's and getting their new-parent advice.  Anddddd checking my registry every hour hasn't lost it's appeal.

Looking Forward To: Going home and having my first baby shower this weekend.

  2. Welcome to the tilted uterus club! I've always been told I had one too. That really stinks about the handyman standing y'all up. I hope you find someone else who actually shows up! Can you believe how close we're getting?! A co worker went into labor yesterday at 36 weeks which really makes me nervous because that's not that far away!
